The Da Nang Venture and Angel Summit 2025 (DAVAS 2025) kicked off on May 30, 2025 at Furama Resort, drawing a strong presence of international investors, high-potential startups, and leading industry experts. The event marks a major milestone in Da Nang’s journey to become a top destination for innovation and entrepreneurship in Southeast Asia.

Organized by the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology, the Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Center, Quest Ventures, and HVA Investment Corporation, the summit aims to foster connections between startups and investors, further establishing Da Nang as a regional innovation hub.

The summit comes on the heels of Da Nang’s remarkable leap in the StartupBlink Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2025, where the city climbed 130 places to rank 766th globally—an impressive achievement reflecting its growing influence in the innovation landscape. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, emphasized: “DAVAS 2025 is not just a gathering of investors and startups—it is a symbol of Da Nang’s bold aspirations to reach beyond borders.” The city leaders also affirmed their commitment to placing businesses at the heart of development policy, promoting a dynamic venture capital community, and building a transparent, business-friendly investment environment that supports innovation at every level.

DAVAS 2025 has attracted 36 startup projects spanning key sectors such as technology, education, agriculture, healthcare, finance, industry, energy, and blockchain. Nearly 40 startups from across Vietnam and abroad—including participants from Hong Kong (China), Singapore, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Can Tho, and Nha Trang—are pitching for funding during the event. The event also features participation from over 20 reputable investors and venture capital funds from countries such as Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong (China), and Vietnam. The combined investment capital reaches an estimated value of USD 3.5 billion.

Highlights of DAVAS 2025 include:

  • 1:1 startup-investor matchmaking sessions

  • Three thematic investment panels on fintech, green investment, and sustainable development

  • Launch of the Da Nang – Greater Bay Innovation Space

  • Innovation partnership signings between organizations and businesses

  • Showcase of standout startup products

  • Debut of the Social Impact Catalyst (SIC) student startup network

  • Formation of the Da Nang Young Entrepreneurs’ Investment & Startup Club (YBA) Executive Board

In recent years, Da Nang has rolled out a suite of breakthrough policies to promote innovation, inlcuding tax exemptions for innovative startups, tech infrastructure support, and public funding for strategic sectors like semiconductors, AI, and data science. A bold future plan to merge with Quang Nam Province—expanding the administrative area to nearly 12,000 km² and a population of over 3 million—is expected to provide further momentum for Da Nang’s rise as a leading socio-economic and innovation powerhouse in the region.

More than an investment event, DAVAS 2025 reflects Da Nang’s spirit of openness, collaboration, and forward-thinking. Backed by clear strategies and tangible results, the city is steadily advancing toward its vision of becoming a “worth-living, worth-investing, and startup-friendly” city in the near future.
