The conference was organized to promote the potential, advantages, investment incentives, and favorable policies to support investment in key areas of Da Nang city to Korean organizations, businesses, and investors in general, and specifically for the city of Pyeongtaek. This initiative aims to facilitate the connection and expansion of investment and business cooperation between Korean enterprises and those in Da Nang. Within the framework of the seminar, the Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency and the Pyeongtaek Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the objective of establishing a partnership to implement investment, trade promotion, and business connection activities for both parties.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Huynh Lien Phuong, Deputy Chief of the Office of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, stated that in the city’s development orientation, Da Nang has identified South Korea as one of the key partners in investment, trade, and tourism cooperation. It is estimated that in 2024, the export turnover to South Korea will reach 48 million USD, while the import turnover is projected to reach 70 million USD. In 2024, tourists visiting Da Nang are expected to account for more than 40% of the total number of international visitors to the city. Regarding investment, as of December 2024, there are 286 investment projects from South Korea in Da Nang, with a total investment capital of approximately 382 million USD, primarily focusing on the manufacturing and service industries. In terms of investment capital, South Korea ranks fourth among 45 countries and territories investing in Da Nang. Some notable projects by South Korean enterprises and investors include: the ICT Vina Medical Equipment Manufacturing Factory of Dentium Company in the Da Nang Hi-tech Park, LG Group's Automotive Parts Development Research Center, and Lotte Da Nang Trade Center... In the coming period, Da Nang city will focus on attracting South Korean enterprises and investors to expand cooperation and investment activities in key sectors such as high-tech industries, international financial centers, and free trade zones... The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation between the Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency and the Pyeongtaek Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a significant event, serving as a foundation to enhance economic cooperation between the two parties and establish partnerships for implementing investment promotion activities, aiming to attract investment from South Korea into Da Nang city.
The mayor of Pyeongtaek City, Jung Jang Seon, stated that Pyeongtaek City and Da Nang City share many similarities in their development orientations and have numerous opportunities for cooperation in the future. He recognizes the potential and growth prospects of Da Nang City and hopes that in the near future, there will be many connections between enterprises from both localities in areas where both sides have strengths and mutual interests, such as semiconductor chips, hi-tech industries, seaports, and logistics…

At the seminar, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai, Deputy Director of the Investment Promotion Agency, introduced the investment environment and opportunities, as well as the preferential and specific support policies in key development sectors of Da Nang city. Member companies of the Pyeongtaek Chamber of Commerce and Industry (South Korea) and business associations in Da Nang engaged in open discussions, proposing many potential collaboration ideas. The discussion session and business networking were vibrant, providing opportunities for businesses from both cities to expand relationships, seek business and investment cooperation opportunities, particularly focusing on investment procedures in the Hi-tech Park and industrial zones in Da Nang. The departments and boards of Da Nang city are committed to supporting and facilitating businesses and investors from Pyeongtaek city in effectively implementing projects in Da Nang.
After the seminar, the Investment Promotion Agency guided the delegation from Pyeongtaek City to survey the projects of South Korean enterprises and investors currently being implemented in the Da Nang Hi-tech Park. IPA Da Nang
