The Conference was co-organized by IPA Da Nang and Da Nang Department of Information and Communications, attracting the participation of more than 60 delegates representing agencies, business organizations and enterprises of the two cities in the fields of IT and digital technology.

Addressing the event, Vice Chairman of Da Nang People’s Committee Tran Chi Cuong briefed that ICT was one of the key sectors calling for investments into Da Nang city, especially in the fields of IC designing and AI industry. Korea is one of largest investment partners of Da Nang City with the total investment capital of 371 million USD in 271 projects, ranking 5th in terms of FDI capital in the city. Da Nang city encouraged Korean investors and enterprises to continue investing in Da Nang in the sectors which they have rich experience including ICT, semiconductor and AI. On June 26, 2024, Vietnamese National Assembly passed Resolution No.136 on urban governance organization and special mechanisms and polices for the rapid and sustainable development of Da Nang in the coming time, especially in the fields of semiconductor and AI. Vice Chairman expressed his hope that the event would further make effective contributions to the business cooperation between enterprises from Daegu and Da Nang.
MOU signing ceremony
At the Conference, representative of Deagu Innovation Promotion Agency presented about the Suseong Alpha City Smart City model in Daegu. Suseong Alpha City was started in 2008 with the aim to bolster the local ICT industry, especially the software industry. At the moment, there are about 240 software companies in Suseong Alpha City with 4,500 workers, accounting for 36% of the total software workforce in Daegu.
Representative of Da Nang delegation also gave a presentation on the current status of the city’s IT industry, smart city implementation plan as well as incentives and support programs reserved for IT, semiconductor and AI projects in Da Nang city.
The business matching session witnessed the signing of 30 MOUs between the two cities’ enterprises related to developing IT applications, smart city solutions (smart education, fire prevention, digital copy in smart governance, etc). Beside the main event, there was also an exhibition of OCOP and local products of Da Nang city.
