Development objectives of Da Nang City by 2030, with a vision to 2050
Overall objectives
To develop Da Nang City into one of the major economic and social hubs nationally and in the Southeast Asia region. It is envisioned to be a leading center for entrepreneurship, innovation, tourism, commerce, finance, logistics, hi-tech industries, information technology, and supporting industries; a hub for cultural, sports, educational, and high-quality healthcare services at the national level; a prominent host for regional and international events; a maritime and international coastal urban center, serving as the core of the urban chain and a significant growth pole in the North Central and Central Coastal regions, the Northwest Highlands, achieving regional significance in Asia; an ecological, modern, smart and worth-living city that excels in national defense, security, and maritime and island sovereignty.
Specific objectives
- In economic sector:
+ Achieve an economic growth rate of 9.5-10% per year and strive for 12% per year, following the spirit of Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2019 of the Politburo, where the sectors of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries aim for a growth of 2.5-3%; industry and construction aim for a growth of 10-10.5% (with industrial growth rate at 11.5-12%); and services aim for a growth of 9.5-10%. The economic structure is expected to be: agriculture, forestry, and fisheries account for approximately 1-2%; industry and construction around 29-30%; services around 61-62%; and taxes less subsidies on products about 8-9%.
+ Achieve GRDP per capita (current price) of around 8,000 - 8,500 USD.
+ Achieve social development investment growth rate of 11-12% per year.
- In social sector:
+ Achieve an average population growth rate of 2.9% per year, with a natural increase of about 1.35-1.4% per year. By 2030, the urban population is expected to be around 1.56 million, including the converted population of about 1.79 million.
+ Achieve a training-induced labor rate of 78%, with the rate of certified workers reaching 66%.
+ Maintain the poverty rate reduction according to the city's multidimensional poverty standards at 1-1.5% per year.
- In terms of infrastructure and urbanization structure: The urbanization rate exceeds 90%.
- In environmental sector:
+ 100% of the urban population is provided with clean water through a centralized water supply system; 100% of the rural population uses clean water meeting hygiene standards.
+ The rate of solid household waste collected and treated to meet environmental technical standards is over 97%; 90% of urban domestic wastewater is collected and treated to ensure compliance with environmental technical standards.
+ The forest coverage rate reaches 45-47%.
- In the sector of national defense and security: 100% of communes and wards to achieve the standards of comprehensive and developed grassroot-level units.
Vision by 2050:
Develop Da Nang into an international-standard, major, eco-friendly, smart, distinctive, and sustainable urban center that plays a pivotal role in connecting and developing within regional and global urban networks; an international tourism hub, closely linked with organizing global events, an industrial center for high technology and information technology, a hub for startups and innovation, a regional-scale international financial center, and a coastal city renowned for its quality of life in the Asian region.
