The MOU is aimed at advancing the semiconductor industry in Da Nang via cooperation programs in organizing training courses to develop human resources and expanding the cooperation network in the semiconductor industry. The deal between Da Nang and Synopsys will significantly contribute to helping the central coastal city to fulfil one of its three key targets set in the municipal Party Committee’s Congress for the 2020-2025 term: “Strongly change the growth model, restructure the economy, with a focus on developing high-tech industry and information technology, associated with building a start-up hub, a smart city, creating conditions to promote the development of new industries and fields, especially digital economy, digital society and digital government”.

Recently, taking the advantage of the wave of investment shifts and restructuring of the global chip and semiconductor industry supply chain; as well as cooperation opportunities from the official upgrade of Viet Nam-the US relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership, Da Nang City has made efforts in conducting research and consulting with experts to build essential policies and mechanisms for developing semiconductor industry in the city.

Also at the session connecting Vietnamese localities with US businesses in hi-tech industries, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang introduced investment and cooperation opportunities in hi-tech field to all participants. He underlined that the Da Nang High-Tech Park is the only of its kind in the Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands regions, and one of three multi-functional high-tech parks in the country. Da Nang's High-Tech Park has completed its infrastructure, ready to meet the investment needs of businesses and investors. Therefore, Da Nang encourages US businesses and investors to come to Da Nang and study investment opportunities in high-tech field, especially semiconductor industry.
