The APEC Vietnam International Commercial Arbitration Center is an organization established by the Ministry of Justice, with the function of resolving domestic and international commercial disputes and commercial mediation. Before expanding to Da Nang, the Center operated in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and Phu Quoc Special Zone, creating a legal infrastructure to support businesses in accessing dispute resolution mechanisms quickly, flexibly and in accordance with international practices.
In fact, the operation of the APEC Vietnam Branch is consistent with the spirit of the Investment Law 2020, in which Article 14 stipulates the expansion of the right to choose dispute resolution methods for investors. Accordingly, disputes with investment elements can be resolved at Vietnamese Courts, Vietnamese Arbitration, Foreign Arbitration, International Arbitration or arbitration organizations agreed upon by the parties, depending on the nature and agreement of the parties. This “openness” shows Vietnam’s strong commitment to protecting investors’ rights, creating a predictable, transparent and internationally compatible business environment.
The establishment of the APEC Vietnam International Commercial Arbitration Center Branch in Da Nang not only expands the Center’s network of operations to the Central region but also meets the growing demand for modern dispute resolution mechanisms in the context of increasingly diverse and complex trade and investment transactions. For Da Nang – the regional economic center and being oriented to develop into an international financial center according to Resolution No. 222/2025/QH15 of the National Assembly – the presence of an independent and professional legal institution like APEC Vietnam is extremely necessary. The branch's operation will contribute to perfecting a more transparent and safe investment environment, enhancing the ability to protect businesses, minimizing legal risks, thereby enhancing the city's attractiveness to domestic and foreign investors.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee announced and introduced the Advisory Board, Branch Management Board, and the team of Arbitrators, Mediators and Secretariat. The presence of these professional forces helps to enhance the capacity to support businesses in preventing and handling disputes, especially in the fields of trade, intellectual property, digital economy and cross-border investment activities.
Within the framework of the conference, the thematic discussion session bringing together experts - businesses - representatives of agencies showed great interest in perfecting the legal corridor to ensure safety for investment activities. Opinions emphasized that in the context of Vietnam's deep integration, access to an effective, confidential and internationally compliant dispute resolution mechanism is an urgent need for the business community.
This event not only marks the expansion of APEC Vietnam’s network but also clearly demonstrates Vietnam’s commitment to improving the investment environment in the direction of “openness”, transparency and integration. Thereby, Da Nang continues to affirm its position as a pioneer in building a favorable, competitive and trustworthy business environment on the regional and world investment map.
