-To realize this goal, the Da Nang healthcare sector is synchronously implementing many solutions, focusing on three main pillars: investing in infrastructure, improving the quality of human resources and strongly applying modern medical technology.
Accordingly, the city continues to invest in upgrading and expanding key end-line hospitals such as the Da Nang General Hospital, the Da Nang Oncology Hospital, the Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children in the direction of forming specialized healthcare centers and at the same time develops a system of private clinics and hospitals that meet international standards.
The city also has issued policies to attract investors in the healthcare sector and developed a high-quality medical tourism model, thereby not only serving local people but also targeting patients in the region and internationally. Tasks have been fulfilled in training a team of high-quality doctors and medical staff through cooperation with universities, medical organizations, and large hospitals at home and abroad.
In-depth training programmes, professional exchanges and sending doctors to study abroad are being implemented effectively to improve skills and master advanced techniques.

- Upgrading the Da Nang General Hospital to a special-class level, building general and specialized hospitals to play a regional role and form a regional organ transplantation coordination center in the Central Viet Nam - Central Highlands regions is an important part of the city's health system development strategy, as determined in Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW of the Politburo on building and developing Da Nang city by 2030, with a vision to 2045.
To achieve this goal, the city is focusing on investing in expanding the scale and modern equipment at the Da Nang General Hospital. Accordingly, the Da Nang General Hospital has invested in upgrading its infrastructure, expanding specialized treatment centers, especially the Organ Transplant Centre, the Cardiovascular Centre, and the Orthopedic Trauma Centre.
At the same time, it is promoting the training of organ transplant teams, cooperating with major hospitals in the country and internationally. The city aims to build the hospital into a regional organ transplant coordination centre in the Central Viet Nam - Central Highlands regions, contributing to reducing the burden on those in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.
For the Da Nang Oncology Hospital, the Da Nang Department of Health is investing in a modern radiotherapy system, developing advanced cancer treatment techniques such as immunotherapy and targeted therapy. By 2030, the hospital aims to become the leading cancer treatment center in the region.

In addition, the city is effectively implementing medical tasks under Project 06/QD-TTg of the Vietnamese Government (integrating chip-based citizen identification cards, cashless payments, biometric kiosks); digitizing medical records, moving towards deploying electronic medical records, not using paper medical records; applying RIS-PACS in storing and transmitting medical images. At the same time, the city is promoting online appointment booking services and improving patient experience.
In the coming time, the health sector will complete the electronic health records for the entire population; develop a shared medical data warehouse, connect tests between hospitals; apply artificial intelligence (AI) in diagnosis, treatment and smart medical management; build a smart prevention system and early disease warning. These solutions will help Da Nang become a pioneer city in digital health, bringing many benefits to the people.
