According to the cooperation agreement, the People's Committee of Da Nang City and Vingroup will collaboratively develop a program focused on sustainable development for the period 2025 – 2030. The two parties will collaborate on investments in areas such as green tourism, green transportation, and green lifestyles.
In the field of transportation, the People's Committee of Da Nang City and Vingroup will collaboratively launch the campaign “Fierce Vietnamese Spirit - For a Green Future,” promoting the increased use of electric vehicles (including public transport such as electric taxis and electric buses). In particular, Vingroup and the People's Committee of Da Nang City will study and develop an electric bus route between Da Nang and Hue, providing convenience for local citizens and tourists. Additionally, both parties will study and implement the use of electric buses within the city and ensure the conditions are met with real conditions and the roadmap for green energy transition as stated in Decision 876 of the Prime Minister.
Additionally, the People's Committee of Da Nang City will also support for planning and identifying locations for Vingroup’s charging stations, as well as support the development of charging station infrastructure across the city. Both sides will also cooperate in developing carbon credit projects from electric vehicles and Vingroup’s charging stations, completing procedures to register carbon credit projects on international trading platforms, ensuring legality and the ability to transfer carbon credits to Vingroup or international partners when conditions are met.
Regarding green lifestyles, the two sides will cooperate in developing green, smart urban areas; social housing projects; and others; they will also explore mechanisms and policies for developing free trade zones, financial centers, … . Additionally, both sides will consider cooperation in studying and developing technology, investment in science and technology projects, innovation, and digital transformation in Da Nang to support the development of industries such as semiconductor chips, artificial intelligence, and high-quality human resource training.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, stated: “The cooperation agreement between the two parties is particularly important in promoting the city's green transition process. With the potential, experience, and multi-sector ecosystem of Vingroup, along with the strong determination of the city government, I believe this cooperation will open up many new opportunities, making practical contributions to the sustainable development of Da Nang City.”
A representative of Vingroup Corporation, Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy - Vice Chairwoman of the Group, stated: “Today's signing of the comprehensive cooperation agreement on green transition marks an important milestone in the promising journey of cooperation between Da Nang City and Vingroup Corporation. We are looking forward to accompanying Da Nang City on its green transition journey, creating a sustainable living environment, and improving the quality of life for local citizens.”
