The seminar was organized to promote the environment and investment opportunities in Da Nang city in the field of supporting industries; create a forum to connect Da Nang city enterprises and German enterprises in this field. The seminar was attended by representatives of relevant departments, Da Nang Mechanical Association and a number of member enterprises. The delegation of Thuringia State, Federal Republic of Germany was led by Mr. Andreas Krey, Director, Thuringia State Economic Development Office with the participation of enterprises (Hehnke Co., Ltd., Plasttechnik Hohleborn Co., Ltd., Purventus Co., Ltd., Ruben Peter Ausbau Co., Ltd., ...) and agencies, organizations and training facilities in Thuringia State.

Discussing at the seminar, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai, Deputy Director of the Investment Promotion Agency, introduced the investment situation of foreign enterprises and investors in general and German enterprises and investors in particular in Da Nang city. As of the end of October 2024, there were 1,009 FDI projects in Da Nang with a total registered investment capital of nearly 4.4 billion USD. Of which, there are 11 projects of German investors still in operation, with a capital of more than 10 million USD, mainly in the service sector (restaurants, hotels and transportation), IT and construction. At the same time, she introduced investment opportunities and preferential policies, investment support in Da Nang High-Tech Park; industrial parks in Da Nang as well as Da Nang Free Trade Zone. In addition, information on some contents of preferential policies and specific support stipulated in Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 dated June 26, 2024 of the National Assembly on the organization of urban government and piloting some specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang city to promote the attraction of investment resources from partners in Germany.
Director of the Thuringian State Economic Development Office Andreas Krey said that, with the role of trade promotion, Thuringian State wants to mark its presence in some areas where Da Nang attracts investment. He also asked Da Nang to provide more detailed information on business categories, preferential policies and investment support... so that the working delegation can have a specific view, thereby making investment decisions in Da Nang.
Ms. Do Thi Quynh Tram, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, introduced the mechanism and policies to attract investment in the supporting industry sector in Da Nang city, including contents related to priority industries for investment attraction, current support and incentives, suitable investment locations, etc.
The two sides also discussed and shared about cooperation in the coming time, including investment attraction and business connection activities.

It is known that in Da Nang city, the work of connecting and promoting investment, trade and tourism with the German market has always been focused on by Da Nang city. In particular, in 2023, a working delegation from Thuringen state led by the State Governor visited Da Nang. On that basis, within the framework of the working trip of the city leaders to Thuringen state last May, Da Nang city and Thuringen state signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a cooperative and friendly relationship. In 2023, the export and import turnover between Da Nang and the German market reached 27 million USD and 20 million USD, respectively. The number of German tourists to Da Nang city in 2023 reached nearly 19,000. To promote investment promotion, Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the German Business Association in Vietnam (GBA Vietnam) in 2023.
