The workshop was attended by leaders of departments, divisions and branches; associations and businesses in Da Nang city that cooperate with Hong Kong (China) and nearly 30 delegates representing economics - innovation professors, and MBA students of the University Hong Kong (China), who currently hold key positions at large companies and corporations in Hong Kong (China), China, Korea, Mexico, United States, Greece, etc.
At the beginning of the workshop, Director of Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency Huynh Lien Phuong introduced an overview of the situation and development orientation of Da Nang city; investment opportunities and preferential policies to attract investment into the city today. Thereby, promoting the potential and advantages, helping the delegation have an overview of the business investment environment in the city. Ms. Huynh Lien Phuong also said that in the field of foreign direct investment, as of March 2024, the city has 23 FDI projects from Hong Kong (China) with a total investment capital of about 64 million USD, focusing on the fields of commerce, retail, manufacturing, garments, electronic components, etc. The number of projects as well as investment capital is still quite low compared to the potential of the city as well as the potential of investors from Hong Kong (China).
At the Workshop, Chief Representative of Hong Kong University in Viet Nam, Prof. Phan Quang Tuan said that currently there are many Hong Kong (Chinese) investors and other large corporations in China interested in shifting investment to Viet Nam, including Da Nang city. He commented that Da Nang will be a potential and promising investment destination, consistent with the current investment trend of Hong Kong businesses.
The discussion session was lively with many questions from the delegation of Hong Kong University (China) related to procedures, investment process, human resources, living and working environment for investors. foreigners in the city; The city's support and preferential policies when investing in Da Nang High-Tech Park and the education sector; The city's orientation in attracting and developing the semiconductor field; policies to support start-ups in the field of artificial intelligence AI etc; the city's competitive advantages compared to other localities in Vietnam as well as barriers for foreign investors when investing in Da Nang; The city's policy in supporting businesses to adapt to the investment and business environment in the city etc.
Director of Da Nang IPA and related industries attending the discussion specifically answered the issues raised by the delegation. Ms. Huynh Lien Phuong affirmed, "City leaders always create the best conditions and environment for investors to do business, produce and do business in Da Nang city; At the same time, we commit to always accompany, care, and remove difficulties and obstacles to create the best conditions for businesses to develop."
