The event was held by the Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism and related departments and agencies. On the side of the US delegation, there were Ms. Sheng Thao, Mayor of Oakland as the head of the delegation together with 48 members representing the Oakland city government, large enterprises of the State of California, and the Gulf Council (San. Francisco) and the Vietnam-American Business Association (VABA). In addition, the event was attended by representatives from business associations and enterprises operating in the city.

The seminar aimed to promote the competitiveness and potential of investment and tourism of Da Nang city to the US enterprises. At the Seminar, Mr. Le Hoang Phuc, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency delivered a speech about the competitiveness of Da Nang investment environment and its potential. In addition, Mr. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Director of Tourism Promotion Center under Department of Tourism also delivered a presentation on the city's tourism development potential to the US delegation. The seminar is a good opportunity to promote Da Nang city as a safe and potential investment destination to the key US market. The seminar also created a bridge connecting enterprises of the two sides, contributing to enhancing investment cooperation in the coming time.  

Speaking at the seminar, Ms. Sheng Thao, Mayor of Oakland highly evaluated the prospects of increasing support and cooperation with Da Nang city in many fields and expressed her desire to promote and develop the bilateral cooperation between the United States - Vietnam in general and Da Nang - Oakland in particular. On the occasion of the visit and working in Da Nang city, members of the Oakland delegation who are owners of large enterprises and organizations operating in the US are looking forward to connecting and learning more about the investment environment and potential development in the city to seek cooperation opportunities in the future.

Representing the American business community investing in Da Nang city, Mr. Christopher Vanloon, Chairman of AmCham Da Nang said, Da Nang has many favorable factors not only for investment but also very worth living. The commercial centers, tourist areas and utilities are very close to the city center and the infrastructure meets the standards and needs of local and international people. Moreover, the city government always timely supports and creates favorable conditions for investors when they come to learn and invest in the city. Da Nang has many opportunities and potential to develop in different fields such as services, commerce, high technology and is a very good place to invest.

At the end of the seminar, enterprises of both sides had the opportunity to discuss and exchange with each other. Representatives of Da Nang City Business Associations thereby seized the opportunity to meet, connect and cooperate trade with companies from Oakland, promising to bring effective cooperation in the future.

Before, on the afternoon of August 2, 2023, at Da Nang Administration Center, the US delegation had a meeting to greet the Chairman of the City People's Committee. Attending the meeting were representatives from the Departments of: Transport, Tourism, Natural Resources and Environment, Industry and Trade, Foreign Affairs and the Management Board of Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Zones, Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency and Da Nang Port Joint Stock Company.
