The delegation was led by Mr. Karl Van Den Bossche - Ambassador - Embassy of Belgium to Vietnam, Mr. Jean Pierre Muller, Trade & Investment Counsellor for the Wallonia Export and Investment Agency (AWEX), Ms. Eve Devoldere - Trade and Investment Counsellor for the Flemish Region, and Ms. Tuyet Trang Tran - Economic & Commercial Counsellor representing the Government of the Brussels Capital Region- Brussels Agency for Business Support.

Ms. Huynh Lien Phuong introduced about the potential and competitive advantages of Da Nang city such as favorable geographical location, high quality human resources, modern and synchronous infrastructure... The delegation was also provided with some potential projects calling for investment in Da Nang such as Lien Chieu Port project, Logistics projects calling for investment in the city, Hi-tech Park and IT park. Ms. Huynh Lien Phuong expressed her wish that Mr. Karl Van Den Bossche and his associates will assist the city in providing information and connecting Belgian businesses to invest in the areas that Da Nang is calling for investment.
Mr. Karl Van Den Bossche expressed his gratitude to the leaders of IPA Da Nang for welcoming the delegation and highly appreciated the favorable investment conditions, policies and environment of the city as well as the projects calling for investment. Mr. Karl Van Den Bossche also said that the seaport sector is one of Belgium's strengths. Belgium has experience in cooperation in the construction and management of seaports with Hai Phong city and recommends that the city should integrate Lien Chieu port project with Vietnam's commitment on CO2 emissions and zero carbon through integration of wind power, solar power, hydrogen projects, etc. to create a clean energy source to supply ships to the port, thereby shortening anchoring time, reducing costs, increasing operational efficiency.
At the meeting, Ms. Huynh Lien Phuong discussed in detail the smart city project and the incentives, policies, conditions and procedures for investment in the city's hi-tech park.
At the end of the working session, the two sides agreed to actively exchange information and cooperate in the coming time to connect Belgian businesses to research and invest in the city.
