On behalf of the city's leaders, Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee – Mr. Ho Ky Minh warmly welcomed the delegation of Gangwon province and briefly introduced the city recent economic situation, as well as the development orientation in the coming years, with emphasis on a number of key areas which Da Nang focuses on attracting investment including tourism, information technology, high technology, logistics, etc. The Vice Chairman said that since March 2022, Da Nang had reopened for tourism, witnessing a good recovery of the domestic market. However, the number of international visitors has not fully recovered compared to the pre-pandemic, including Korean tourists. The flight route from Korea to Vietnam in general and Da Nang in particular is still very limited.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Vietnam - Korea Business and Investment Association Tran Hai Linh said that the purpose of this visit and working session of the delegation in Da Nang is to learn about the investment environment and promote cooperation in the fields of investment and tourism; developing high-quality human resources, recruiting workers for Korean enterprises. Simultaneously, the delegation also learned about the dispatch of different types of workers, international students and interns in accordance with the laws of the two countries. They would also conduct field surveys of residences, golf courses, resorts and sightseeing spots in Da Nang city in order to build high-class service packages, suitable for Korean and international tourists through HJ Magnolia YongPyong Hotel & Resort (Korea). This is a company with a long history, starting from the establishment of the first Ski Resort in 1973 in Korea, then expanding its activities to the fields of golf service, organizing international golf tournaments, developing real estates, etc. to organizing Winter Olympics Games in Korea. In addition, the Korean delegation has also shown the interest to learn and invest in building a Data Center in Da Nang and fields related to Information and Communication Technology (ICT), renewable energy in Da Nang.
Within the framework of the working session, Da Nang Tourism Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation with the Vietnam-Korea Business and Investment Association and HJ Magnolia YongPyong Hotel & Resort in the fields of tourism including exchange of tourist information, promotional materials and tourism statistics numbers, participating in tourism promotion events and tourism development exhibition held in both countries, encouraging travel agency member to organize tourism programs at preferential prices in the two countries and in the third country, including developing special programs for tourism development cooperation for Da Nang and Gangwon Province (Korea).
