The meeting includes representatives of the Government of Japan, Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori, the Consul General of Japan in Da Nang. On the side of Da Nang City, Secretary of the Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang, Chairman of the People's Committee Le Trung Chinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Le Quang Nam and leaders of related departments and agencies attended.
At the meeting, Chairman of the People's Committee Le Trung Chinh mentioned that Sumitomo Corporation and BRG Group have conducted research on subdivision planning projects on the basis of Da Nang City's adjusted Master Plan to 2030, vision to 2045. Up to now, the research work has achieved initial results. The Chairman also expressed his expectation that the Consul General of Japan would continue to pay attention to and support the two enterprises to quickly realize the projects.
In response, Consul General Yakabe Yoshinori affirmed that Da Nang is an important strategic partner in Japan's foreign policy. With the capacity of Sumitomo, one of the major corporations of Japan who possesses extensive experience in the field of high-quality infrastructure construction, the Consul General expected the cooperation between Da Nang and Sumitomo to bring new achievements in infrastructure for the city, especially for Lien Chieu Port - the starting point of the East-West Economic Corridor.

Mr. Keigo Shiomi, President and CEO of Sumitomo Corporation, Asia and Oceania Region, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, President of BRG Group pledged to focus on accelerating the research to implement the projects in Da Nang. The city's departments and agencies would actively coordinate, and timely provide information at the request of the enterprises in the process of their researching.
Previously, on November 9, 2021, leaders of Da Nang City had a meeting with the two enterprises to introduce investment opportunities for infrastructure development projects relating to airports, seaports, logistics and planning for the development of urban areas. On November 24, 2021, the Chairman of the City People's Committee and the leaders of 02 enterprises signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the development of projects in Da Nang City within the framework of the official visit to Japan by the Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. In December 2021, leaders of the enterprises officially visited Da Nang to visit the sites and work with leaders of Da Nang City on the promotion and implementation of projects.
