On February 25th, 2022, after meeting and working with leaders of Da Nang People's Committee and relevant departments, the new British Consul General - Oliver Todd and a delegation of British Embassy staff had a private meeting with the leader of Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency. Director of Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency - Ms. Huynh Lien Phuong introduced Da Nang investment environment and investment opportunities in the fields of infrastructure, environment, and education to the delegation and informed that the current data of British investors in Da Nang is still quite modest (by the end of 2021, there are 21 projects with 1.9 million USD).
Mr. Oliver Todd said that Da Nang is a potential market for British businesses to invest in. Da Nang has a favorable location, synchronously developed infrastructure, trained human resources, a favorable living environment and clarity and transparency in administrative work. Some of the fields that British investors are looking for in Da Nang city include infrastructure, environment, energy, etc. UK Embassy is ready to support Da Nang city to attract investors in information - communication (ICT) as a basis for the development of Smart City.
Ms. Huynh Lien Phuong expressed her gratitude to Mr. Oliver Todd for his favor towards Da Nang city. She hopes the British Embassy will support the city to successfully promote more projects from the UK and commits that Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency will always be a reliable department for UK partners, businesses and investors.
