The LG new base aims to seek for business opportunities with automobile manufacturers in Da Nang, and Viet Nam at large.
Director of the LG VS DCV Jung Seung Min affirmed the new base in Da Nang would become the biggest R&D centre for LG Electronics in Viet Nam.
“I am so impressed with the development of Da Nang's leadership vision. It’s the reason why we decided to open our second base in Da Nang after the first one we opened in Ha Noi four years ago,” Jung Seung Min said.
Also, the new base will encourage member companies, R&D centres, and satellite and subsidiary manufacturers under the South Korean tech giant to seek investment opportunities in Da Nang.
Addressing its inauguration ceremony, Korean Consulate General in Da Nang Ahn Min Sik highlighted the importance of the opening of the LG VS DCV Da Nang in serving as a catalyst to bolster trade cooperation and investment between the two countries in the aspects of R&D and ICT, and especially, helping Da Nang rise to fame as a big IT hub in Viet Nam, and Southeast Asia as a whole.
Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh affirmed LG's presence in Da Nang is expected to attract new projects to the city. In hopefully, Da Nang would welcome in more R&P facilities developed by LG and other internationally renowned groups in the coming time.
Entering the Vietnamese market in 1995, the South Korean tech giant has established three companies, two factories, and 80 warranty centres, employing nearly 2,000 workers, according to data published by its official websites. The group has already opened its representative offices in Hà Nội, HCM City and Da Nang.
Found in 2016, LG VS DCV specialises in the manufacturing of components and software solutions related to infotainment systems, operations, and 3G and 4G connectivity for cars.
