Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Truong Quang Nghia, municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, municipal People's Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho and municipal People's Council Chairman Nguyen Nho Trung and other city leaders were among the participants in Da Nang.
It was reported at the event that Da Nang has till date basically completed major adjustments to this landmark master plan.
Many constructive recommendations and suggestions for the better master plan were highlighted by leaders of the ministries of Planning and Investment, Transport, Industry and Trade, and National Defense, plus those from such professional associations as the Viet Nam Urban Planning and Development Association and the Viet Nam Architects’ Association.
Currently, Da Nang is on right track to implement its socio-economic development strategies in parallel with creating strategic master plan visions for new development, under which the construction of the Lien Chieu mega-port plays the key role as the drivers of the city's economic growth,
Given its great efforts in placing the master plan on the spotlight of its long-term and sustainable development, along with its important geopolitical position in the country, Da Nang is still in need of more active support from the national government agencies so that it can maintain on its feet to fulfil its socio-economic targets.
Delivering his instructions at the event, Minister of Construction Pham Hong Ha urged the Da Nang authorities to supplement and clarify some additional contents. These are regarding to such issues as legality, scenarios for the city's socio-economic development in accordance with the Politburo-issued Resolution No 43-NQ/TW regarding the city’s development to 2030 with a vision to 2045 dated 24 January, 2016, land use planning based on the 2019-set national standards, population development indicators, and orientations for socio-economic planning associated with national defence and security.
The Da Nang administration must submit their new adjustments to the aforementioned contents as per request of the Minister of Construction to the National Appraisal Council for consideration before 5 September. After that, the adjustments are expected to be presented to the Prime Minister for approval before 10 September.
It is known that the Da Nang government is coordinating with Singaporean-based firms Sakae Corporate Advisory and Surbana Jurong to make adjustments to strategic master plan for major developments in Da Nang.
