With the main focus on preferential policies and investment support of Da Nang government, the workshop attracted the participation of more than 100 representatives from Japanese enterprises in Tokyo. Ms. Huynh Lien Phuong - Director of IPA Da Nang not only presented the potentials and strengths of Da Nang investment environment but also introduced attractive investment incentive policies of the city government for projects in 5 key areas, including (1) Tourism and high quality services associated with resort real estate; (2) Seaports and airports associated with logistics services; (3) High-tech industry associated with smart city construction and start-ups; (4) ICT associated with digital economy; (5) High-tech agricultural and fishery products. She also expressed the belief that there would be an increasing number of Japanese businesses coming to Da Nang to invest.
Japan is currently the largest investor in Da Nang with 868.29 million USD invested in 183 projects (amounting to more than 25% of the total value of FDI attraction in Da Nang), which has made significant contributions to transferring technology, improving human resources, diversifying products, enhancing competitive characteristics and promoting socio-economic development of Da Nang City.
During the workshop, the signing ceremony of the MoU for Investment Promotion into Da Nang City between IPA Da Nang and Pasona Group Inc. also took place. The partnership would be on the field of training and developing high-quality human resources, helping to solve the problem of lack of highly-skilled labor in Da Nang, which was the primary concern of Japanese investors when coming to Da Nang.
It is noted that IPA Da Nang has signed MoU with JETRO, Japanese banks and other Japanese organizations and businesses like PASONA.
