At the meeting, Ms. Huynh Lien Phuong, Vice Director of Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency welcomed the delegation’s visit and expressed optimism that the visit would open many cooperative opportunities between KT, Da Nang government and ICT companies in the city. Representative of Department of Information and Communication briefly introduced Da Nang’ ICT infrastructure and especially the Smart City project, which Da Nang has actively implemented in the past few years and achieved many accomplishments. For example, the city has deployed several smart transportation applications such as bus monitoring, street surveillance cameras, traffic light control system, centralized traffic monitoring center, automatic clean water sensors, and safe restaurant database and application. In addition, many applications have been developed to use in education management, healthcare management and citizen registration, etc.
According to Ms. Sohee Shin, Vice President of KT Global Business Group, established in 1981, KT is one of the leading Korean telecommunications corporations with revenue of $21.9 billion in 2017. At present, KT is concentrating on offering IT solutions, and it has developed IT solutions applied in health, finance - banking, intelligent homes, e-government, big data analysis... In the future, KT delegation hoped that there would be more opportunities for cooperation with enterprises in Da Nang, and for sharing experiences in technological development and application in many fields.
