On March 16th Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency in coordination with Thai Listed Companies Association (TLCA) organized the seminar themed “Da Nang- Thailand Business and Investment Forum”. The seminar was attended by leader representatives of the city departments, agencies, and over 20 enterprises in Da Nang having the demand to develop business partnership with Thailand, and delegation of 34 member companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and Market of Alternative Investment (MAI) operating in many sectors which are Thailand’s advantages including finance, commerce, tourism, telecommunications, logistics, real estate, education, production and distribution of consumer goods.
Speaking at the Seminar, Nguyen Ky Anh- Deputy Director of the city Investment and Promotion Agency (IPA) said that, as a gateway of the Central and Highlands Region to connect with nations and territories on the East West Economic Corridor and Mekong river basin, Da Nang city has made great effort to attract foreign direct investment to contribute to the whole development. Currently, the city has about 20 enterprises having trade relations with Thailand and 6 Thai FDI businesses with a total investment capital of over 21 million USD. In 2017, export from Da Nang to Thailand was estimated at 4 million USD, and import from Thailand approximated at 37 million USD. IPA Deputy Director wished that the seminar would contribute to promoting the bilateral cooperative relations in the coming time.
At the meeting, enterprises of both sides also discussed and shared information on Da Nabg;s investment attraction policy, investment experience and indications on the business situation in Da Nang. Leader representatives of the city departments also introduced a number of projects that were encouraged to call for investment and affirmed to create the most favorable conditions for Thai enterprises to connect and find investment and business partners in Da Nang.
