On 7th January 2017, the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Consulting Association from Japan had a meeting with Danang Investment Promotion Agency to explore business activities and investment climate of the city.
The delegate from SME Consulting Association, consisting of independent business consultants and also senior executive of some big Japanese businesses, claimed that Japanese small and medium enterprises currently longed for expansion to other Asian countries in general and Danang, Vietnam in particular. At the meeting, IPA Da Nang introduced the business comparative advantages and investment incentive policies in Danang city. The Japanese business delegation paid special attention to available support in terms of investment procedures, business establishment and registration, readiness of local skilled labor force and the ability to supply raw materials and intermediate of local enterprises in Da Nang and the surrounding areas, the development ofthe supporting industry.
Mrs. Huynh Lien Phuong, Deputy Director of Promotion and Investment Support Danang stated that the city offered various incentives for developing high-tech industries, supporting industries and high-quality services, etc. with great support for investors such as free investment consulting services, quick authority's response regarding to resolving problems encountered by enterprise via either enquiries to government agencies or direct dialogue with city leaders and so on. Danang has 25 universities and colleges, 19 professional schools and 59 vocational schools, ensuring the supply of quality human resources required by businesses and enterprises.
Japan is regarded as one of the key investors in Danang. In the past years, the Japanese Faculty of the School of Foreign Languages (University of Danang) and six Japanese training centers have been able to meet the communication need of local employees working for Japanese companies. In addition, the city is pilotingteaching Japanese in high school and poviding Japanese language courses in universities, particularly in the field of information technology.
