In the afternoon of May 18, 2016, Mr Nguyen Ngoc Tuan – Vice Chairman of Danang People's Committee and representative leaders of relevant agencies hosted a meeting with Watrec Ltd. from Finland.
Watrec Ltd. is one of the leading enterprises in Finland, specialized in organic waste treatment using biogas technology. The company has participated in the management, construction and technology transfer of waste treatment projects under turnkey approach, which are efficiently operated 24/7 in Finland. The first visit to Danang of Watrec aimed to explore opportunities and enhance the cooperation in the construction of a biogas factory, mainly using urban organic waste and waste water from seafood processing plants, sludge from water treatment plants, in order to replace the traditional landfill and burning method which are costly and environmentally polluted.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan highly appreciated Watrec's advanced technology and said that Danang City is calling for investment in the construction of a new landfill replacing the current one. Danang Investment Promotion Centre was assigned to support Watrec in conducting field survey and connecting to relevant agencies, so that essential information at the request of the company are summarized and provided. Watrec Ltd. would analyze, evaluate and propose investment plans to Danang People's Committee for further consideration.
