The webinar was chaired by Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, with the participation of leaders of city departments, branches, Young Entrepreneurs Association, Da Nang Small and Medium Business Association, AmCham Da Nang. The program attracted the online participation of nearly 100 potential investors and businesses in the United States, Europe and Southeast Asia.
This is the first time Da Nang city has held an online investment promotion conference to promote and introduce the business and investment environment and opportunities in the city in various sectors such as High-tech, Information Technology, High-quality Services, etc., which was presented by Ms. Huynh Lien Phuong – Director of IPA Da Nang, in the context of complicated Covid-19 epidemic in the world.
At the conference, Mr. Luke Treloar, Director of the Strategy and Health Advisory Division of KPMG Vietnam Co., Ltd. said, with the globally trend of shifting investment flows to diversify the supply chain, Viet Nam in general and Da Nang in particular are bright spots that receive much attention from investors and businesses. AmCham Da Nang, UAC Vietnam Co., Ltd and Ubisoft Vietnam Co., Ltd all highly appreciated the city's efforts to improve the investment and business environment in recent years and affirmed that Da Nang is a city worth living, worth investing.
At the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, Mr. Le Trung Chinh and representatives of departments and agencies answered investors' questions about the city's development orientation in the years to come and the city’s preferential policies, supporting investment in High-tech Park, IT Park phase 1. Accordingly, Mr. Le Trung Chinh affirmed the Da Nang government’s commitment to create the best conditions for the investors deploying their projects and business activities in the city. Currently, the city authority has actively promoted the application of information technology to make it transparent to the public and to create a dynamic and highly competitive investment climate for businesses and investors. With the orientation to develop tourism and high quality services, the city has implemented many solutions to develop high quality medical care, competitive tourism and connecting with service centers in ASEAN and the world. Simultaneously, the city has solutions to improve the quality of human resources in the city, especially in high-tech and information technology sectors.
In the discussion, the Organizing Board received more than 20 questions from investors asking about Da-Nang’s comparative advantage in comparison to Ho Chi Minh City in term of building a "Silicon Valley", the procedure of an investment application into High-tech Park and IT Park, the solutions to improve the quality of human resources in the field of high technology and information technology and many other questions related to the investment incentive policies, start-up, traditional tourism, medical tourism, Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and many other questions.
In conclusion, Vice Chairman – Mr. Le Trung Chinh expressed his expectation to welcome investors to work directly with the city authority and implement their projects in the near future.
