At the meeting with the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh said that this visit to Cuba by Da Nang City is a continuation of the long-standing traditional relationship between Vietnam and Cuba, affirming the love of the people of Da Nang for the people of Cuba. The famous statement of Cuba's revolutionary legend Fidel Castro “For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to shed its blood” has become a symbol of the comradeship and brotherhood between Vietnam and Cuba. Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh highly appreciated the results and efforts of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba in carrying out its tasks, contributing to the development of Cuba and the traditional solidarity and friendship between the two countries. Exchanging information on the socio-economic development, national defense and security, and Party building work of Da Nang city in recent times, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba to continue to pay attention to promoting the friendly and cooperative relationship between Da Nang city and Cuban localities, aiming towards the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba in 2025 (December 2, 1960 - December 2, 2025).

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Cuba Le Quang Long expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation of Da Nang city. Ambassador Le Quang Long said that there is great potential for developing friendly relations and cooperation between Da Nang city and Cuban partners in the fields of trade promotion, tourism as well as cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomacy. He affirmed that in the coming time, he will continue to play the role of a bridge to promote relations and cooperation between Cuban localities and Da Nang city.
On this occasion, through the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba, Da Nang city cabled its condolences to the Party, State and people of Cuba over the losses Cuba caused by the hurricanes Oscar and Rafael in late October and early November 2024. At the same time, it presented a support of 10,000 USD to Nguyen Van Troi Primary School - a symbol of the close relationship between Quang Nam - Da Nang province (formerly) and Cuba.
Previously, with the support of the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam, the delegation also had an opportunities to learn about Mantazas province, the second largest province of Cuba, and the possibility of strengthening cooperation between the two localities in the fields of sea tourism and cultural exchange. On this occasion, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh invited the leaders of Mantazas province to attend the Forum of Friendship and Cooperation Cities - Da Nang 2025, scheduled to take place from January 16-18, 2025. The event aims to bring together all cities that have signed cooperative relations and are promoting cooperation expansion to discuss the achievements on the multilateral cooperation map, while expanding and tightening international relations in important areas such as innovation, smart city development, high technology, urban planning, and sustainable tourism.
Within the framework of the working visit to Cuba, the delegation of Da Nang City also paid floral tribute to President Ho Chi Minh in the park named after him in Havana.
