The event was attended by H.E. Mr. Yamada Takio, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam, Ms. Akiko Santo, former President of the Senate of Japan, Ms. Le thu Ha, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly, and Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee together with former leaders of central and local governments.
Mikazuki pedestrian overpass, which is nearly 13 meter high, more than 140 meter long, with a floor area of about 655 m2, and the construction cost of 42 billion dong, was inaugurated after more than 5 months of construction in order to celebrate the 1st anniversary of the opening of Mikazuki Hotel and Spa and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.

At the event, Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh mentioned that in recent years, the friendship and economic cooperation between Da Nang and Japanese localities have constantly developed and achieved many practical results. Up to now, the total number of enterprises, representative offices and projects of Japanese companies located in Da Nang city has reached approximately 215, ranking first in the total number of projects and enterprises with foreign investment in the city. Total investment capital is up to 932 million USD, ranking first among more than 40 countries and territories investing in Da Nang. Many Japanese businesses and investors have conducted successful projects in the city, such as Mikazuki Group's Da Nang Luxury Hotel and Spa Project with a total investment of 3,900 billion VND. Major Japanese corporations including Sumitomo and Aeon Mall are also interested in conducting their projects in the city. The Vietnam-Japan Cultural Exchange Festival in Da Nang is held annually, attracting the participation of delegations from many localities of Japan. Programs in student exchange and , cooperation in training high quality human resources is also actively implemented.
The inauguration of the Mikazuki pedestrian overpass is projected to contribute to promoting cultural exchanges and tightening diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan in general and between Da Nang city and Japanese localities in particular.
