The University Studies Abroad Consortium is a non-profit organization based in Reno, Nevada, the United States. Through its 40 years of operation, the Consortium has provided undergraduate study and internship abroad opportunities to students around the world through more than 50 partner universities in 28 countries around the world. In Asia, the Consortium has partners in China, Japan, Korea, Thailand and India, etc. The existing joint training program of the Consortium includes majors in the fields of Economics, Science and Technology, Engineering, Medicine, Architecture, Humanities and Social Sciences, Foreign Languages, Education, Media and Journalism, Art, etc.
The working trip to Da Nang this time aims to learn, research and evaluate opportunities for cooperation and training with universities in the city to establish study abroad programs, exchange students and lecturers between the US and Vietnam. Thereby, expanding the network of connections between universities, strengthening academic and cultural exchange cooperation between the two countries, providing study abroad opportunities for students and exchanging and cultivating skills and knowledge for teachers from both countries. The program also provides scholarships to disadvantaged students.

Welcoming and working with representatives from the University Studies Abroad Consortium, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Quang Son, Vice President of the University of Danang welcomed and expressed support for the Consortium’s goodwill for cooperation and joint training and proposed signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Consortium and the University of Danang and its member universities to implementation of the cooperation proposal.

The delegation also worked with the Vietnam - UK Research and Training Institute, the Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, the University of Economics, the University of Foreign Language Studies, University of Education and Dong A University. At each university, the University Studies Abroad Consortium proposes cooperation programs in accordance with the teaching strengths and study programs of each university.
Through this business trip and meetings with universities in Da Nang city, Ms. Chaidarun Tippawan said that Da Nang is a potential destination for international education development because of its developed and synchronous infrastructure, high quality lecturers, qualified training programs, professional and extensive international cooperation capacity, etc. This is also the reason why she chose Da Nang as the survey site for the cooperation expansion training program in Asia - Pacific this time by the University Studies Abroad Consortium.
At the end of the business trip, the University Studies Abroad Consortium will continue to work with universities in Da Nang toward signing a memorandum of understanding on cooperation. It is expected that by the end of this year, the Executive Director of the University Studies Abroad Consortium in the US will visit and work in Da Nang.
