The Green Small Smart Cities (GSSC) is a project funded by the European Union, within the framework of the Competitiveness of Small and Medium Enterprises (COSME) program. The GSSC project aims to spread the use of sustainable technology solutions from Europe to developing regions of the world. On behalf of the working delegation, Ms. Ewa Rekosz, External Relations Director of the Association shared: This is the first time the delegation has come to Da Nang city, she is very impressed with the rapid development of the city in the past time, especially the improvement in per capita income. This is the reason why the delegation prioritized to choose Da Nang city as a locality to study in Vietnam. This business trip is considered the first steps, laying the foundation for the implementation of future cooperation projects. The Association's front-line delegation to Da Nang this time includes representatives from SOLRTYS (energy sector), CWP and Greentech Clust-ER (sustainable water management and use), NANOTECHNOLOGY CLUSTER (high technology and nano technology and aerospace, etc), Mazovia Cluster ICT (information and communication technology, start-up).
The meeting session
At the meeting, Deputy Director of the Investment Promotion Agency expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the Association for choosing Da Nang city as the first and pilot locality to survey and promote cooperation programs in Vietnam (Vietnam is one of three countries within the framework of the program's cooperation, the other two are Chile and Cape Verde). He introduced the investment environment of Da Nang city to the Association and emphasized the city government's commitment to always accompany investors and companies in the process of researching and implementing projects in Da Nang city. Based on the strenghths of the delegation, Mr. Le Hoang Phuc focused on calling for a number of key projects of the city such as Lien Chieu Port (investors in the field of alternative energy at the port, processing power plants, wastewater treatment, dredging services, etc), attracting investment in the Hi-Tech Park (key industries such as nanotechnology, aerospace, etc), information and communication technology, international school projects to raise awareness of sustainable development for students, etc.
Through the arrangement and introduction of the Investment Promotion Agency, the delegation continued to have meetings with relevant departments and companies in the above fields in Da Nang city.
