The broadcast point in HCMC was honored to welcome the participation of the Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh; Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Committee in HCMC Phung Cong Dung; leaders of Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs, Investment Promotion Agency; leaders of HCMC’ s departments and units and especially more than 100 representaties from Overseas Vietnamese Business Assocation in HCMC and overseas Vietnamese investors in Da Nang city. Present at the broadcast point of Overseas Vietnamese Committtee of MOFA in Ha Noi was Mr. Ngo Huong Nam, Vice Chairman of the Committee.
The event also attracted the online attendance of nearly 100 delegates from overseas business associations and businesses from 18 countries and territories (the US, Canada, Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Australia, Germany, Russia, Poland, Slovakia, the UK, France, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, Thailand and Mongolia). The seminar aimed to promote the contribution of overseas Vietnamese to the socio-economic development of the city, especially calling for investment into the city; introduce the business environment, investment incentives and prioritized key sectors for investment.
In his opening remarks, Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh stated that: “Over the years, the city has gradually mobilized overseas Vietnamese experts and intellectuals to participate in numerous programs and projects, acting as a bridge to promote international cooperation and develop friendly relations between the city and foreign localities. To promote investment from overseas Vietnamese into the city, Da Nang has worked closely with overseas business delegations to introduce investment environment; connect domestic businessmen with overseas businessmen; take advantage of the support of overseas Vietnamese expatriates to organize investment promotion events; provide information on the Party's orientations and policies, the State's laws and investment policies and incentives to the overseas Vietnamese business community”. According to Mr. Minh, over the past time, investment from overseas Vietnamese witnessed an increasing tendency with expansion in scale, making significant contribution to the development of the city. At the same time, this also affirmed the confidence of overseas Vietnamese in the guidelines and policies of the Party and State and the great efforts and companionship of the Da Nang government. However, the number of projects of overseas Vietnamese investors in Da Nang was still not commensurate with the potential and strengths of the city and the growth of the overseas Vietnamese community around the world.

At the seminar, Vice Director of Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency Do Thi Quynh Tram gave a presentation on the business environment and investment opportunities in Da Nang; providing insight into investment incentives in the fields of hi-tech industry, IT, supporting industry, construction of new industrial zones and key projects calling for investment, including Lien Chieu Seaport; Complex of financial and commercial center, entertaiment, casino and luxury apartments; Da Nang Innovation park; International commercial center; International Hospital; Nursing home and International school. She mentioned that overseas Vietnamese had invested in many projects in the fields of manufacturing, ICT, real estates, tourism, healthcare, education and trade, such as the semiconductor manufacturing plant of 110 million USD and the MEMS manufacturing plant of 60 million USD in Da Nang Hi-tech Park, MAG-RABBIT VIETNAM CO., LTD (IT), etc.

Many representatives of overseas Vietnamese business community also participated in the discussion on the investment tendency of overseas Vietnamese investors and proposed solutions to effectively attract investment from those overseas Vietnamese, such as Mr. Hoang Manh Hue – Chairman of Overseas Vietnamese Business Association in Europe, Mr. Hoang Xuan Binh - Chairman of Overseas Vietnamese Business Association in Poland, Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam - Chairman of Overseas Vietnamese Business Association in France, Ms. Huynh Thu Trang - Chairwoman of Overseas Vietnamese Business Association in Italy, Mr. Tran Ba Phuc – Chairman of Overseas Vietnamese Business Association in Australia, etc.
