Da Nang has many potentials and advantages to attract investment, but the fact shows that the capital investment in the city from the non-state sector is still low. Fourth Meeting of the City Party Committee, Session XXI agreed to issue Conclusion No. 30-KL / TU dated April 26, 2016 on a number of key solutions to promote investment attraction in Da Nang in the period 2016-2020. This is an important base to implement investment attraction activities in the city in recent years. He called for the consensus and joining hands of all businesses together with the city authority in preparing favorable conditions to create breakthroughs in strongly attractting investment in the city in the coming time, contributing to the successful implementation of the dual goal of preventing epidemics and recovering and developing the economy of the city.
At the conclusion of the conference, Party Secretary Nguyen Van Quang said that in the 2016-2019 period, the city's economy maintained a fairly good growth. However, in 2020, the impact of Covid-19 had affected deeply the socio-economic condition. However, in the difficult situation, the city's investment attraction increased compared to the previous term in terms of registered capital, project quality and investors' commitment and companionship. However, it is necessary to seriously recognize the limitations of the previous periods. The caliber of investment projects is not commensurate with the city's potential. In addition, if compared with many localities, even neighboring ones, Da Nang has gradually been lagging.
Therefore, the city's investment attraction requires more determination. Party Secretary Nguyen Van Quang suggested businesses accompany and share with the city, ensuring the harmonization of interests of enterprises and the state. In addition, businesses need to accompany the city in the implementation of the procedures, considering this is the sustainable value of the project. City leaders are determined to accompany investors. However, the city also requests businesses and investors to strictly comply with their investment commitments, thereby helping the business community truly become a supporting pillar for the city in recovering and developing the economy, building Da Nang city to maintain the status of “worth living, worth investing”.
