Speaking at the reception, Vice Chairman Le Trung Chinh gave a brief introduction on the recent socio-economic achievements of the city and the cooperation activities between Da Nang and Australia. Accordingly, Da Nang People’s Committee inked MoUs for cooperation with Queensland Department of State Development in 2003 and South Australia in 2016. Da Nang and Australia has strengthened the cooperative relations in various areas, especially in education sector. Regarding economic cooperation, as of March 2019, Australia had 31 FDI projects in Da Nang with a total investment capital of 14.08 million USD. Mr. Le Trung Chinh said that this number did not reflect the potentials for cooperation between the two sides and suggested the Australian businesses to expand operation in Da Nang. He made a pledge that the city authority committed to improve the business environment and create the most favourable conditions for investor when working in Da Nang.
In reply, Mr. Anthony Donato – Director Anthony Donato Architects, on behalf of the delegation, expressed his gratitude to the hospitality of Da Nang People’s Committee, especially Mr. Le Trung Chinh. He had high opinion of the development of the city and praised the city authority for the efforts in investment promotion activities. He pledged to promote Da Nang to other Australian investors and looked forward to further cooperation.
On this occasion, the Australian business delegation also paid site visits some significant projects, including Da Nang Bay IT Park, Centralised IT Park, Hi-tech Park and The Ocean Villas Da Nang.
