Da Nang People’s Committee Vice-Chairman Tran Van Mien delivers his remarks at the Conference
Addressing the Conference, Mr. Odaka Nobumoto, Former Chairman of Chiba provincial Council, shared his impression on the current widespread promotion of Da Nang’s image in Japan. He spoke highly about the meaning of the Conference and considered this as a fruitful opportunity for Japanese enterprises in general and Chiba’s in particular to explore the business-investment opportunities in Da Nang.
In his presentation on the business and investment environment of Viet Nam and Da Nang, Mr. Saito Masayuki, General Director of VCC Investment Consultancy Company affirmed that stability was the most attractive characteristics of the Vietnamese market. Besides, factors including increasing domestic demand and purchase power, stable currency, and reliability for Japanese-quality products had facilitated the investment in Viet Nam. On behalf of Japanese enterprises attending the Conference, Mr. Yoshimune Odaka, Chairman of Mikazuki Group, said that Da Nang was a fascinating destination for investors in the fields of services and tourism. Currently, the Group is developing the project of constructing Mikazuki ocean view resort and tourism complex in the city. Da Nang is also an ideal choice for Japan’s small and medium sized businesses to invest in hi-tech production, information technology.
In his remarks at the Conference, DPC Vice-Chairman Tran Van Mien briefed on the socio-economic achievements of Da Nang city, especially after APEC Viet Nam 2017. In addition to strategic location, favourable natural conditions, developed infrastructure, well-trained human resource, green and clean living environment, the city government has made efforts to implement administrative reforms, creating a favourable and open investment environment for investors. By August 2018, Japan is in the list of top investors in Da Nang with a total investment capital of over 650 million USD. The increasing interest and participation of the business community in the conferences held by city in Japanese localities recently and the growing number of enterprises coming to explore the investment opportunities in Da Nang annually have shown that the investment wave from Japan is likely to grow.
Deputy Director of Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency Huynh Lien Phuong stated that the city was calling on Japanese enterprises in Chiba to study the investment in such sectors as hi-tech industry, supporting industry, medicine, and tourism. With convenient transport system including road, sea and air, and high quality human resource, attractive investment incentives, Da Nang has many advantages compared to other localities, meeting the needs of Japanese corporations and investors.
On the sideline of the event, on the same day, DPC Vice-chairman Tran Van Mien had a meeting with Mr. Isao Mizukoshi, Mayor of Kisarazu city, Chiba province. Mayor Mizukoshi desired that the two cities would establish friendship and cooperation relations, contributing to strengthen mutual understanding, opening cooperation and investment opportunities from Kisarazu to Da Nang, promoting tourism and labour exchange. The mission delegation also met with 05 big enterprises of Chiba including Kameda Corporation, Shigemikoki Company, Nishikawa Company, Shinshowa Company, TOA Electric Company to discuss on issues related to medicine, education, equipment and machinery, new generation of building materials, clean energy and food processing. These enterprises wished to visit Da Nang to explore the investment opportunities in the coming time .
After Chiba, the mission delegation continued the meeting agenda with Mitsui&Co, Japan transportation planning Association and Okura Hotel Group to discuss on their investment project proposals in Da Nang.
