At the meeting, Chairman Huynh Duc Tho briefed on the socio-economic development situations of Da Nang city. The chairman assumed that hosting the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017 brought the city many valuable experiences, ensuring modern and developed infrastructure, convenient traffic, diverse accommodation facilities and services, good security and high quality workforce.
Dr. Philipp Rosler expressed his impressions on Da Nang’s achievements over the past time, especially infrastructure development and the tourism’s growth. He also congrated Da Nang for being selected as the host city for APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017.
Chairman Huynh Duc Tho requested WEF Managing Director to connect international enterprises to study investment opportunities in Da Nang’s prioritized sectors such as information technology, high technology, health, education, tourism, logistics… Most importantly, Chairman suggest Dr. Philipp Rosler to consider selecting Da Nang as the host city for the forthcoming World Economic Forum of the East Asia, which was the most important events that the city would like to organise, contributing to promoting the title “Asia’s leading city for events” voted for Da Nang.
Dr. Philipp Rosler highly appreciated Da Nang leader’s proposal and affirmed that WEF Management Board would consider on the grounds of consulting Vietnamese Government leaders. Dr Rosler also believed that Da Nang was totally suitable for hosting this significant event.
With the theme “Creating dynamism, fostering the shared future”, the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week taking place in Da Nang from Nov 6th to 11th with 8 major events and a number of sideline activities, particularly Vietnam Business Forum, APEC Ministerial Meetings, APEC CEO Summit and APEC economic leaders’ high level meeting. The organisation, reception, work on ensuring security for leaders of 21 member economies and thousands of official delegates, domestic and international reporters and world’s leading businesses have marked Da Nang as a top destination for international events./.
