At the meeting, Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh welcomed the Ambassador's visit to Da Nang and expressed his gratitude to Sweden for supporting Da Nang in the fields of urban management, solid waste treatment, education ... Da Nang has already established official cooperation with the Boras city government (Sweden), especially in waste management and renewable energies with the assistance of the Swedish International Center for Local Democracy (ICLD). On behalf of the city leaders, Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh pledged to create favorable conditions and hoped that the Ambassador would introduce Swedish businesses to Da Nang to explore investment opportunities, and support start-up activities in the city.
Ambassador Pereric Högberg affirmed that Sweden highly valued the cooperative relationship with Da Nang in many fields, especially science and technology, education and training, environment, and health. The Ambassador said that Swedish companies and citizens were very keen on Viet Nam in general and Da Nang in particular. In 2016, more than 30,000 Swedish tourists visited Vietnam and many leading Swedish corporations were seeking oppotunities investigating and planning to expand their production ranges and business activities in Viet Nam. He pledged that he would try his best to reinforce the traditional friendly relationship and multifaceted cooperation with Da Nang in the coming time.
