At the meeting, Chairman Huynh Duc Tho warmly welcomed the Ambassador's visit to Da Nang and highly appreciated the Australian government's interest and support in promoting the bilateral cooperation. In recent years, the cooperation between Australia and Da Nang City has made many impressive achievements. Particularly, Da Nang has sent many senior delegations to visit and work in Australia to share and exchange experience, and more than 170 city officials have been studying and training in Australia. Recently, the Australian Government has supported Da Nang City to provide English training courses for city officials to prepare for the APEC 2017 Summit.
The Australian Ambassador thanked the city leaders for their warm welcome and expressed that he loved Da Nang, a clean and green city with many beautiful beaches. In the coming time, Australia would send many senior government and business delegations to visit Da Nang during such events as APEC Summit Week, Australian team attending DIFF 2017, and Australian Navy ships visiting Da Nang. He was also very delighted to support the city leader's delegation led by Da Nang City Party Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh to visit and work in Australia in June 2017. He suggested that Da Nang and Australia continue to promote cooperation in areas such as economic development, education, security, humanity, and innovation in the future.
