At the meeting, Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh briefly introduced the city's socio-economic achievements, comparative advantages, and the fruitful cooperative relationships between Da Nang and Malaysia. Regarding foreign direct investment (FDI), Malaysia currently has 13 FDI projects in Da Nang with the total investment capital of more than USD 108 million (accounting for 3.6% of total FDI). The two most successful Malaysian projects are Massda Land Ltd., Co., which invested in constructing industrial zone's infrastructure, and TCIE Vietnam, which manufactured and assembled automobiles.
Consul General Sofian Karim thanked the city leader for the warm welcome and expressed that he had very positive impressions about Da Nang. In his position, he would actively support Da Nang to promote a direct flight from Da Nang to Malaysia, introduce Malaysian cities to cooperate with Danang, introduce Malaysian government scholarships for students in Danang... He also recommended UOU Group, one of the major Malaysian firms specializing in real estate and hospitality, to learn and invest in the city.
