The webinar was chaired by Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Anh Tuan and Vice Chairman of Da Nang City - Tran Van Mien with the participation of the Ambassador of Vietnam to Japan Vu Hong Nam, Mr. Okabe Daisuke - Ambassador Representative of Japan Embassy in Vietnam and Mr. Nakajima Takeo - Chief Representative of JETRO in Vietnam. The program has attracted the participation of nearly 300 potential investors and ICT enterprises in Japan through Zoom – an online conference plateform.
This webinar aims to introduce the investment environment and provide information on the current situation and investment opportunities in the city's ICT sector. This is also an opportunity for the city to promote the ready information technology infrastructure to attract Japanese ICT investors to Da Nang City.
Japan is one of the key markets that the city is calling for investment, especially with capacity and experience in the information technology field, which is a spearhead economic sector that Da Nang city aims to develop. As of September 2020, Japan is leading in terms of registered investment capital in the city with 214 projects with a total capital of more than 816 million USD, mostly focusing on the fields of industrial production and services. The city has 869 FDI projects with a total registered capital of about 3.518 billion USD.
Also in the framework of the conference, on the afternoon of September 30, 2020, Japanese businesses participated in the business matching section in order to have direct dialogue with the boards of management of Hi-Tech Parks and IT Parks in Da Nang and Long Hau factory in Da Nang Hi-Tech Park.
Previously, in the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency successfully organized 2 webinars to promote investment in Da Nang for the European and US market (17 / 07/2020), Taiwan (July 29, 2020). It is expected that in November and December 2020, there will be three more webinars for the South Korean market, Taipei and Taichung markets of Taiwan.
